Admission procedure

Documents for Eu Citizens

Citizens of EU Member States, Member of the European Economic Area and of the Swiss Confederation may apply for admission to all cycles of university studies in the same conditions provided by law for Romanian citizens, after the recognition of their studies undertaken in the home countries.

Recognition of the studies

All international students interested in applying for any of the programs organized by the Petroleum – Gas University of Ploiești, Romania, can find useful information on CNRED website.

I. Applicants from EU countries should follow first the procedure for the recognition and equivalence of their studies.

PhD studies

The application file to obtain the letter of acceptance to study shall include:

  1. Application for the issuance of the letter of acceptance (Annex 2);
  2. Information on the protection of the personal data (form)
  3. copy of the passport;
  4. birth certificate – copy and certified translation into Romanian/English/French;
  5. copy of the document certifying permanent residence abroad;
  6. copy of the marriage certificate (this document is submitted only by the candidates who have changed their names through marriage);
  7. copy and certified translation of the high school diploma or its equivalent (in English/French/Romanian), certified by the authorities of the issuing country;
  8. copy and certified translation of the high school graduation certificate (in English/French/Romanian) for the graduates of the current year;
  9. copy and certified translation of the Bachelor's Degree Diploma and Diploma Supplement (in English/French/Romanian), certified by the authorities of the issuing country;
  10. copy and certified translation of the Master Degree Diploma and Diploma Supplement (in English/French/Romanian), certified by the authorities of the issuing country (this document may be missing from the file of candidates holding a diploma equivalent to long-term university studies;
  11. two photos passport type
  12. Proof of payment the registration fee (200 lei or equivalent) for the doctoral admission competition.

Educational offer

Academic structure

The academic year starts on 1st October and ends at the end of September next year.

The Christmas Holiday (December - January) and Summer Vacation (August) each of them lasts 3 and 4 weeks.

During the academic year, there are few public holidays: November 30th, December 1st, January 24th, the second day after Easter, the first day after Whitsuntide, 1st May, 1st June and August 15th.

Admission calendar

Annual Fees

The annual fees can vary a bit, but in 2022 the Petroleum-Gas University purchases the following taxes:

  • Fee for PhD studies - 6500 Lei equivalent to 1300 Euro (for EU citizens)
  • Fee for PhD studies - 3000 Euro (for non-EU citizens)
  • Accommodation fee 50÷200 Euro per month (depending on the number of students in a room)
